When:  Jun 13, 2026 from 12:30 to 13:30 (ET)

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has fundamentally transformed dental diagnosis and treatment planning. Despite its widespread adoption across multiple dental specialties, however, most clinicians continue to use CBCT technology within relatively limited interpretive frameworks, relying primarily on conventional multiplanar reconstruction views and standard rendering environments. As a result, a substantial amount of diagnostically valuable information often remains hidden within the dataset itself.

This advanced lecture explores how contemporary imaging enhancement technologies and software-based visualization tools can dramatically expand the diagnostic capabilities of CBCT imaging far beyond traditional interpretation methods. Through a highly visual, case-based presentation, participants will be introduced to advanced imaging workflows utilizing task-specific rendering, adaptive visualization protocols, selective density manipulation, blooming artifact reduction, enhanced volumetric filtering, and contemporary 3D reconstruction strategies designed to reveal anatomical, pathological, and treatment-related findings that are frequently overlooked or previously considered impossible to visualize using conventional CBCT interpretation alone. Special emphasis will be placed on how advanced enhancement protocols can significantly improve image quality and diagnostic perception in complex clinical situations involving metallic artifacts, beam hardening, calcified anatomy, subtle osseous changes, root fractures, perforations, external inflammatory resorption, and postoperative healing assessment. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of CBCT not simply as an imaging modality, but as a dynamic diagnostic intelligence platform capable of extracting substantially more clinically relevant information when advanced software tools and optimized visualization strategies are properly utilized.
